Guided Day Trip to Mt. Pilatus from Lucerne

Experience the famous Golden Round Trip to Mount Pilatus: ride the steepest cogwheel train in the world, fly over the peaks on a panoramic cable car, and enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne.

Guided Mount Pilatus Golden Round Trip

After meeting at the Landenberg bus park at the indicated time, we will set off towards Kriens to begin our "golden round trip" on the panoramic gondolas to Fräkmüntegg. The half-hour cable car ride offers views of the forests and valleys.

In Fräkmüntegg, we will take the Dragon Ride, an aerial cableway providing stunning views of the Swiss Alps. After reaching the peak of Mount Pilatus, you can explore the Dragon's Trail or walk to the summit. Visit the observation terrace for views and enjoy Alpine cuisine in nearby restaurants.

Following your time at Mount Pilatus, we will descend to Alpnachstad aboard the world's steepest cogwheel train. The tour continues with an hour-long boat cruise on the Lake of the Four Cantons, concluding back at the starting point after a total of 5.5 hours.

Itinerary Changes

The itinerary will be modified on the following dates:

Dragon Ride Cable Car: operational year-round, except between October 19 and November 27, 2025, when it will be closed for maintenance. Ascent and descent will be via cogwheel train.Boat trip: available between May 11 and October 18, 2025. From October 19 to November 29, 2025, a meal voucher valid for restaurants on Mount Pilatus will be provided, valued at 20CHF for adults and 10CHF for children.
