Guided Day Trip to Mt. Pilatus from Lucerne

Experience the famous Golden Round Trip to Mount Pilatus: ride the steepest cogwheel train in the world, fly over the peaks on a panoramic cable car and enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne.

Guided Mount Pilatus Golden Round Trip

After meeting in Lucerne, we will travel to Kriens to start our "golden round trip" on the panoramic gondolas to Fräkmüntegg. The half-hour cable car ride offers views of the Krienseregg forests, valleys, and mountains.

At Fräkmüntegg, we will take the Dragon Ride, an aerial cableway providing impressive views of the Swiss Alps. At the peak of Mount Pilatus, you can explore the Dragon's Trail or walk to the summit. Visit the observation terrace and enjoy Alpine cuisine in the restaurants.

After your time at Mount Pilatus, we will descend to Alpnachstad via the world's steepest cogwheel train. The tour includes a one-hour boat cruise on the Lake of the Four Cantons, showcasing Swiss Alpine landscapes. The tour concludes back in Lucerne after 5.5 hours.

Itinerary Changes

The itinerary will have modifications on the following dates:

Dragon Ride Cable Car: operational all year round, except October 20th to November 7th, 2025, when closed for maintenance. Ascent and descent will be by cogwheel train during this period.Boat trip: available May 12th to November 14th, 2025. Note that between October 20th and November 14th, 2025, this will be replaced by a meal ticket.
