Have you heard of the Queen of the Alps? Discover its landscapes on this day trip to Mount Rigi, where we'll travel by boat, rack railway and cable car.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the bus parking lot in Landenberg in Lucerne and walk to a nearby pier to embark on a leisurely boat trip on Lake Lucerne.

After an hour's cruise, we'll disembark at the quay in Vitznau and board the first rack railway in Europe, established in 1871. The journey takes just over half an hour, ending at Rigi Kulm Station, at 1,797 metres (5,895 feet) above sea level.

Once there, you'll have 2 hours of free time on Mount Rigi to have lunch and enjoy views of the lakes and mountains of the Swiss Alps. At the designated time, we'll reconvene at Rigi Kulm Station for the return journey on the rack railway to Rigi Kaltbad, a traffic-free mountain village.

You can explore this area, including the Känzeli lookout point. After taking in the views, we'll meet at Rigi Kaltbad Station to ride the cable car to Weggis, located on the shores of Lake Lucerne.

Our trip concludes with a boat return from Weggis to one of the docks in Lucerne harbour. This activity lasts approximately 7 hours.
