Have you heard of the Queen of the Alps? Discover its landscapes on this day trip to Mount Rigi, where we'll travel by boat, rack railway and cable car.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Frankenstrasse 2 - 4 in Lucerne and walk to a nearby pier. We'll embark on a leisurely boat trip on Lake Lucerne.

After an hour's cruise, we'll disembark at the quay in Vitznau. Here, we'll board the first rack railway in Europe, which takes just over half an hour to reach Rigi Kulm Station at 1,797 metres (5,895 feet) above sea level.

Once there, you'll have 2 hours of free time on Mount Rigi for lunch and to enjoy views of the lakes and mountains of the Swiss Alps. At the indicated time, we'll meet again at Rigi Kulm Station to travel to Rigi Kaltbad, a mountain village where motor vehicles are not allowed.

You can explore this site at your leisure, with the Känzeli lookout as one of its key attractions. After taking in the panoramic views, we'll meet at Rigi Kaltbad Station to board a cable car to Weggis, situated on the shores of Lake Lucerne.

Finally, from Weggis we'll return by boat to one of the docks in Lucerne harbour, concluding this 7-hour activity.
