Swiss Museum of Transport

Located in Lucerne, on the shores of Lake Lucerne, the Verkehrshaus or Swiss Museum of Transport is the most visited museum in Switzerland.

With your ticket, you'll explore the past, present, and future of mobility. The permanent exhibition features various rooms showcasing the evolution of public transport, from early infrastructures to modern technology.

Notably, the rail transport room displays Swiss SBB trains and the history of the Gotthard Tunnel, built in 1882 as the longest in the world.

The land transport area includes a collection of carriages, motorbikes, bicycles, automobiles, and a Formula 1 simulator, along with sections dedicated to air, space, and sea transport.

The Swiss Museum of Transport is open daily during the following hours:

April to September: 10 am to 6 pm.October to March: 10 am to 5 pm.
