Discover how Galicia's ancient Celtic inhabitants lived visiting the Castro de Viladonga Museum and Archaeological Site and exploring the landscapes around the Miño River.

Description

After hotel pickup in Lugo, you will travel to the town of Castro de Rei to visit the Castro de Viladonga ruins. Upon arrival at the pre-Roman hillfort, a guided tour of the archaeological site will commence. You will learn about the culture, customs, and lifestyles of the Celtic people, observing preserved remains of walls, houses, and public buildings. This archaeological complex highlights the "Castro culture" present in ancient fortified settlements in northwestern Spain and Portugal.

Continue your exploration at the Castro de Viladonga Archaeological Museum, where scale models and artefacts will provide insights into daily life in pre-Roman Galicia. After your visit, you will be taken to Fonmiñá Lake, near Meira. Enjoy the natural landscapes at the source of the Miño River and learn about the legends linked to the springs originating from Pedregal de Irimia.

At the end of the tour, you will return to your minibus for the journey back to Lugo.
