Description

After being picked up from your hotel, you will travel from Lugo to the town of Castro de Rei to visit the ancient ruins of Castro de Viladonga.

At the pre-Roman hillfort, you will participate in a guided tour of the archaeological site, learning about the culture, customs, and way of life of the Celtic people. You will see preserved remains of city walls, houses, and public buildings, gaining insight into the "Castro culture" of these ancient fortified settlements in north-western Spain and Portugal.

Further, you will visit the Castro de Viladonga Archaeological Museum, where exhibitions featuring scale models and artefacts will enhance your understanding of daily life in pre-Roman Galicia.

Following your visit to Castro de Viladonga, you will be taken to Fonmiñá Lake near Meira. You can enjoy walking around the natural landscapes and discovering legends related to the springs from the nearby Pedregal de Irimia.

At the end of your tour, you will return to your minibus for the journey back to Lugo.

This excursion includes a pick-up service from hotels in Lugo around 9:30 am. If you are not staying in the city or prefer to meet directly, you can join at Praza de Bretaña at 10 am.
