Discover how Galicia's ancient Celtic inhabitants lived visiting the Castro de Viladonga Museum and Archaeological Site. You'll also explore the beautiful landscapes around the Miño River.

Description

After being picked up from your hotel, you will set off from Lugo towards Castro de Rei to visit the ancient ruins of Castro de Viladonga. At the pre-Roman hillfort, you will participate in a guided tour of the archaeological site, learning about the culture and way of life of the Celtic people. You'll see preserved remains of city walls, houses, and public buildings, gaining insight into the "Castro culture" prevalent in north-western Spain and Portugal.

Additionally, you will visit the Castro de Viladonga Archaeological Museum, which displays scale models and artefacts from the castro, enriching your understanding of daily life in pre-Roman Galicia.

Following your visit to Castro de Viladonga, the tour proceeds to Fonmiñá Lake, near the town of Meira. You can walk around the natural landscapes at the source of the Miño River and learn about the legends associated with the springs from the nearby Pedregal de Irimia.
