Lugo Guided City Tour

On the day of your tour, meet your guide by the giant chess board located in Praza Maior, Lugo's main city square and the location of the Concello, the town hall.

From here, you'll set off towards Saint Mary's Cathedral, a 12th-century building on the Camino Primitivo pilgrimage route. Inside, you can admire various artistic styles from Romanesque to Neoclassical, including chapels dedicated to San Froilán and the Virgin with Big Eyes.

Next, you will visit Lugo's Roman walls, the only city entirely surrounded by intact Roman walls, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will learn about Lucus Augusti while walking along these ancient defenses.

Continue to the Domus Do Mitreo Museum, built on the remains of a Roman temple, offering insight into Lugo's Roman history.

Your tour will include a stroll through the city’s historic centre and visits to main squares: Plaza de Santo Domingo, Plaza del Campo, Plaza de Campo Castelo, and Plaza Mayor.

Tour Options

When booking, you can choose between:

Tour without Tickets: A 1.5-hour guided tour of the exterior of the monuments, without interior access.Tour with Tickets: A 2-hour tour that includes interior visits to the cathedral and the Domus de Mitreo Museum, except on Mondays. On Mondays, the Domus is closed, and access to the cathedral’s towers will be provided instead.

Domus Do Mitreo Museum

The Domus Do Mitreo Museum is closed every Monday and on some national holidays. The tour with tickets is not available on these days.
