Lugo Guided City Tour

On the day of your tour, meet your guide by the giant chess board located in Praza Maior, Lugo's main city square and the location of the Concello, the town hall.

Your guided walking tour will take you to Saint Mary's Cathedral, a 12th-century religious building important on the Camino Primitivo pilgrimage route. Inside, admire various artistic styles from Romanesque to Neoclassical and the chapels dedicated to San Froilán and the Virgin with Big Eyes.

Next, visit Lugo's Roman walls, the only city globally with intact Roman walls, while learning about Lucus Augusti, the ancient settlement of modern Lugo. These 3rd-century stone walls are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Continue to the Domus Do Mitreo Museum, built on the remains of a Roman temple. This museum offers insights into Lugo's Roman past.

The tour will also cover the city's historic centre and main squares: Plaza de Santo Domingo, Plaza del Campo, Plaza de Campo Castelo, and Plaza Mayor. The tour lasts 2 hours.

Tour Options

When booking, choose between the following options:

Tour without Tickets

This option includes a guided tour of the exterior of the monuments, without interior access.

Dates and times: from April 1 to October 12, 2025, at 10 am and 5 pm, except Easter, July, and August, which are at 10 am and 6:30 pm.

Tour with Tickets

This option allows you to visit the interior of the cathedral and the Domus de Mitreo Museum, except Mondays when the museum is closed, replaced by access to the cathedral towers.

Dates and times: all year round, Monday to Saturday at 12 noon.

Domus Do Mitreo Museum

The Domus Do Mitreo Museum in Lugo is closed every Monday and some national holidays. On such days, visit the towers of Saint Mary's Cathedral instead for stunning city views.
