On this guided tour of the Temple of Karnak, we will explore this sanctuary dedicated to Amun, the main center of worship in Ancient Egypt. A must for those visiting Luxor.
Karnak Temple Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the entrance of the Temple of Karnak to start the guided tour. The tour will cover the largest temple in the country, built by pharaohs including Hatshepsut, Seti I, Ramses II, and Ramses III from 2200 to 360 BC. The Karnak complex contains multiple temples, chapels, and a large sacred lake, a key attraction.
The most notable feature of the Temple of Karnak is the Hypostyle Hall, comprising 134 columns renowned for their size and preservation. Participants will also walk along the Avenue of the Sphinxes leading to the Temple of Luxor, with insights into the significance of the ram-headed sphinxes that protect the sanctuary.
After a two-hour guided tour, we will conclude at the starting point.
