Valley of the Kings and Queens, Colossus & Hatshepsut Tour

On this day trop, we'll visit the most famous necropolis of ancient Thebes, where you can find the tombs of pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Ramses II, Ramses III, Set I, and queens like Nefertari.

Activity Details

After picking you up at your hotel, boat, or train station in the morning, we'll travel to the east bank, home to the famous necropolis.

Our first stop will be the Valley of the Kings, which contains more than 60 tombs excavated in the rocks. The burial site of the first king, Thutmose I, serves as the final resting place for kings such as Tutankhamun, Ramses II, Ramses III, and Set I. The visit will include viewing some of their most remarkable tombs.

Next, we will proceed to the Valley of the Queens, the location of the tombs of princesses and wives of the Pharaohs of the New Kingdom, including Nefertari's tomb (entry fee for this tomb not included).

We will then visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, dedicated to Egypt's only female ruler, which features a unique design by architect Sennenmut, partly carved from rock and partly consisting of terraces.

Finally, we will stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two colossal statues representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III, overlooking the Nile and the rising sun.

The tour concludes back at the pickup point.

Hotel Pickup

This activity only includes pickup and drop-off at hotels and boats in Luxor on the eastern banks (right side) of the River Nile. Upon return, you will be dropped off at the pickup location.

If your hotel or boat is on the western banks (left side) of the River Nile, a meeting point will be arranged on the eastern side.
