Discover some of the best-conserved funeral monuments of the New Kingdom on this tour, visiting the burial site of Ramses III and the necropolis of the nobles and artisans.
Tour Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel in the morning to visit the west bank of Luxor, where the necropolis of ancient Thebes is located.
Our first stop will be Medinet Habu, home to the burial temple of Ramses III, an important religious monument with a 63-meter wide and 22-meter tall entrance depicting the pharaoh punishing prisoners.
The tour continues to the Valley of the Nobles, featuring over 500 tombs of the Egyptian aristocracy. We will explore several tombs to view their decoration, which is better preserved than that of royal tombs due to lower looting interest.
Our final destination will be Deir el-Medina, an ancient town founded by Thutmose I that housed the workers and artisans of Egypt for over 450 years. You can observe archaeological evidence of its history, making it one of the most studied towns from the era.
The tour concludes with a return to your hotel or the boat where you are staying.
