When you hire your boat with a skipper in Maafushi, you'll sail through the Indian Ocean while admiring the scenery of the atolls on a private boat for your group.
Description
Booking includes hotel pickup and drop-off, private boat hire with a skipper, snorkelling equipment, and lunch. You can choose between two options for visiting the Maldives' atolls.
Vaavu Atoll boat trip
Pickup is at 9 am from your hotel in Maafushi. You'll travel to the harbour and board a boat for a trip through the Maldives. The skipper will handle navigation.
Upon arrival at Vaavu Atoll, snorkelling equipment will be provided for swimming with nurse sharks, jacks, and dolphins. The atoll features the longest uninterrupted reef in the country at 34 miles (55 kilometres).
A barbecue lunch and drinks will be served during the 6 hours and 30 minutes of cruising.
South Ari boat trip
Your hotel in Maafushi will be the pickup point, then you'll go to the harbour to board the boat for sailing in the Indian Ocean towards South Ari Atoll, which contains 105 islands.
In a quiet area, you'll receive a snorkelling mask to look for giant whale sharks, which can grow up to 46 feet (14 meters), as well as manta rays and dolphins.
A barbecue lunch will be served during the activity.
Vaavu Atoll + Shipwreck boat trip
After pickup from your hotel in Maafushi, you'll head to the port. The first stop is at Shipwreck to snorkel and see the sunken Victory ship in Malé Atoll since 1981.
Next, you'll visit Vaavu Atoll for snorkelling with nurse sharks, fish, and dolphins. A visit to a sandbank will be included, followed by lunch.
The excursion concludes after six-and-a-half hours of sailing.
