4-Day Trek to Machu Picchu
Day 1: Urubamba - Lares - Cuncani
Pick-up at your hotel in Urubamba followed by a stop at the Calca market for regional snacks. Visit the natural pools in Lares for a swim before enjoying lunch with regional dishes. Afterward, travel to Cuncani for the first night's campsite.
Day 2: Cuncani - Pumahuanca Pass - Paccha
Begin with an early breakfast and commence hiking toward Sahuasiray Mountain and Colque Cruz, enjoying possible panoramic views from the summit. Descend through a polypepi forest to Pumahuanca Pass, which is 5,318 meters high. Stop for lunch before reaching Paccha for dinner at the campsite.
Day 3: Paccha - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
Start with breakfast at camp and embark on the third day of hiking. Visit a local fish farm before having lunch. Travel by car to Ollantaytambo station to take a train to Aguas Calientes, where you will stay in a 3-star hotel for the night and have dinner.
Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Urubamba
Enjoy a filling breakfast at the hotel before visiting Machu Picchu for two hours. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at local restaurants, then take a train back to Ollantaytambo and car transfer back to your hotel in Urubamba.
