4-Day Trek to Machu Picchu
Day 1: Urubamba - Lares - Cuncani
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Urubamba and travel to the starting point of our 4-day hike along the Lares Valley. First, we stop at the Calca market for regional snacks. Then, we visit the natural pools in Lares for a swim and enjoy a lunch of regional dishes. After resting, we head to Cuncani for our first night's campsite after another meal.
Day 2: Cuncani - Pumahuanca Pass - Paccha
After an early breakfast, we hike toward the Sahuasiray Mountain and Colque Cruz, with possible views from the summit. Descending through a forest, we continue to Pumahuanca Pass, which reaches a height of 5,318 meters. We will stop for lunch before reaching Paccha, where dinner awaits at our campsite.
Day 3: Paccha - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
After breakfast at camp, we visit a local fish farm to learn about fish hatcheries, particularly rainbow trout. Post lunch, we take a car to Ollantaytambo station to board a train to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a 3-star hotel and enjoy dinner.
Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Urubamba
We start with a breakfast at the hotel and then head to Machu Picchu for two hours of exploration. After visiting this site, we return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at local restaurants. Finally, we take a train back to Ollantaytambo and are transferred back to your hotel in Urubamba.
