4-Day Trek to Machu Picchu

Day 1: Urubamba - Lares - Cuncani

Pickup at your hotel in Urubamba at the indicated time and travel to the starting point of the 4-day hike along the Lares Valley. A stop at the Calca market will allow for snacks. Visit the natural pools in Lares for a swim, followed by a lunch featuring regional dishes. Camp for the night in Cuncani after dinner.

Day 2: Cuncani - Pumahuanca Pass - Paccha

After an early breakfast, hike towards Sahuasiray Mountain and Colque Cruz, enjoying panoramic views if the weather permits. Descend through a forest of polypepi and reach Pumahuanca Pass, peaking at 5,318 meters (17,447 feet). Enjoy lunch before arriving at Paccha for dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 3: Paccha - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Start with breakfast at camp and hike, visiting a local fish farm to learn about fish hatcheries. Post-lunch, travel to Ollantaytambo station to take a train to Aguas Calientes. Stay overnight at a 3-star hotel, including dinner.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Urubamba

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before visiting Machu Picchu for two hours. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at local restaurants, then take a train back to Ollantaytambo. A car will transport you back to your hotel in Urubamba.

Accommodation

The tour includes 2 nights of accommodation in tents with breakfast at the Cuncani and Paccha campsites, and one night of accommodation with breakfast in a 3-star hotel in Aguas Calientes.
