Description
Your adventure begins with a prompt pick-up from your hotel in the early morning. From there, we will proceed to the Ollantaytambo train station to board our train to Aguas Calientes. The excitement of the day is about to unfold!
The train journey itself is not to be missed - we’ll traverse one of the most spectacular rail networks globally. Experience breathtaking Andean vistas through the train's glass roof, ensuring exceptional views of the captivating scenery. After approximately 90 minutes, we will reach Aguas Calientes.
Upon arrival, a bus will take us up the mountain to the iconic ancient citadel of Machu Picchu. Don’t forget your camera! We will commence a 2.5-hour guided tour led by our expert guide, who will share fascinating tales, myths, and insights into this extraordinary site.
Wander through the narrow pathways and enter significant locations, including the impressive House of the Guardian, allowing you to appreciate the splendor of the Incan civilization.
After the guided exploration, we shall return to Aguas Calientes. You will then have five hours of free time to enjoy lunch and explore this charming Andean town at your leisure. We will reconvene at the train station to begin our return trip to Ollantaytambo.
Your day will conclude with our arrival back at your hotel, expected between 6 and 7 pm.

As we traverse the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the stunning Andes Mountains, our train offers large windows and a glass roof, perfect for capturing the breathtaking views. Riding in these trains feels like soaring! When booking, you can select between tourist class (Expedition train) or first class (Vistadome train).
Discount for the Andean Community
Residents of the Andean Community, including individuals born in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, or Peru, are eligible for a discount on this day trip to Machu Picchu.

In case alternative routes are fully booked, you will be presented with remaining options (scenic tours), which incur an additional guide fee ranging from 70 USD (for 1 person) to 35 USD (for 2 people).
If the trip is canceled due to strikes or adverse weather, an alternative date will be offered for the tour. Should rescheduling be impossible, a full refund will be issued for the activity, excluding the non-cancellable entrance fee for Machu Picchu (200 PEN).
