Description
We will pick you up at your hotel at the scheduled time and then head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our day trip begins in the village of Maras, known for its colonial architecture and beautiful surroundings. Next, we will visit the archaeological site of Moray, which is situated at 3500 meters (11,500 feet) above sea level and is thought to have served as an experimental farm for the Incas over 500 years ago. There, we’ll see the unique amphitheater of circular terraces.
Next, we will visit a viewpoint to observe the salt mines of Maras, which trace back to the Inca period and consist of over 3,000 salt ponds owned by local families. The salt harvested is iodized during the dry season and sold commercially.
Afterward, we will return to the original meeting point to conclude our day trip.
