Train to Cusco

Traveling to Cusco from Machu Picchu? Climb aboard a comfortable train for an incredible ride with extraordinary views of the Peruvian Andes!

Options

You can choose the type of train to travel from Machu Picchu to Cusco, which takes three and a half to four hours.

Expedition train

The Expedition train offers a spectacular route with large windows for scenic views. Peruvian music enhances the journey.

Vistadome train

Arrival stations

Select your preferred arrival station in Cusco:

Rainy season

From January to April, train services may be less frequent. Booking can be done directly from Ollantaytambo.

Limited availability

This popular activity has limited capacity. Advance booking is recommended. Official tickets will be sent within 72 hours of reservation.

Bimodal bus + train service

Until April 30, 2024, Poroy and San Pedro stations will use a bimodal system (bus + train). Buses will run from Wanchaq to Ollantaytambo.

Passengers must arrive at Wanchaq station 30 minutes before their bus departure with their tickets.

Trains on the Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu route will continue to operate without changes.
