Vitcos Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel at 4 am to cross the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will travel part of the Abra Málaga Route, observing peaks that reach 4,316 meters high, before descending through the Lucumayo Valley.

Then, we will arrive in Huancacalle, where you can have breakfast on your own. Afterward, we will begin a hike to Vitcos, also known as Rosaspata. This archaeological complex, along with Hatun Vilcabamba and Espíritu Pampa, was a bastion of Inca resistance in the 16th century.

During the tour, we will discuss the history of the four Incas of Vilcabamba and the significance of this site as an important stronghold during the resistance.

We will tour the fortresses and funerary monuments of Vitcos, including the main square, ceremonial monuments, and Ñusta Hispana. This area features the Wanca, believed to be a source of energy, and the "White Rock," a sacred stone displaying the Inca Cross or Chakana.

On our return, we will pass through the town of Lucma to view the colonial Baroque-style church of San Pedro and San Pablo, noting its bell tower and mural paintings. After a lunch stop at a local restaurant, we will return to your hotel at 9 pm.
