Mount Pico Climb
We'll meet at the Casa da Montanha visitor centre, where we'll start our climbing route on Mount Pico. At 2351 metres in height, the volcano is the highest point in the Azores and in Portugal.
Once we're all together, we'll give you some safety instructions before starting the climb.
We'll start ascending at a moderate pace adapted to the whole group. It'll take us between seven and eight hours to complete the whole route, three hours to reach the summit and about four hours on the way back.
Throughout our climb up Mount Pico, you'll enjoy views of the surrounding area and the vegetation that changes with altitude, including holly bushes and cedars. When we reach the top, and if the clouds don’t obstruct our view, we'll enjoy the unique landscape of the Azores archipelago.
Mount Pico Night Climb
If you want to enjoy a different experience on Mount Pico, we recommend booking our night climb of Mount Pico. On this adventure, you'll climb to the top of the volcano under the moonlight and enjoy a spectacular sunrise.
