Experience a day immersed in nature while discovering the Azores from the summit of Mount Pico, the tallest peak in Portugal, offering a breathtaking perspective of the landscape.

Climb Mount Pico

Our adventure begins at the Casa da Montanha visitor center, where we will embark on our climbing expedition of Mount Pico. Towering at 2351 meters, this volcano stands as the highest elevation in both the Azores and Portugal.

After gathering and receiving essential safety instructions, we will set off on our ascent. Let’s begin!

We'll progress at a comfortable pace suitable for everyone in the group, taking approximately seven to eight hours to complete the entire trek—about three hours to the summit and roughly four hours to return.

During the climb, you will be captivated by the stunning vistas and the diverse vegetation that changes as we ascend. Encounter holly bushes and resilient cedars that thrive despite the demanding volcanic environment. Upon reaching the summit, weather permitting, you’ll be rewarded with the extraordinary panorama of the Azores archipelago.

Night Climb of Mount Pico
