Mount Pico Climb
We'll meet at the Casa da Montanha visitor centre, where we'll start our climbing route on Mount Pico. The volcano reaches 2351 metres in height, making it the highest point in the Azores and in Portugal.
Upon gathering, we'll give safety instructions before commencing the climb. The ascent will take between seven and eight hours in total, with approximately three hours to reach the summit and around four hours for the return journey.
During the climb, you'll experience stunning views and observe the changing vegetation as we ascend. You'll encounter various plant species, including holly bushes and cedars that thrive in the volcanic conditions. If the weather permits, we'll enjoy the unique landscape of the Azores archipelago from the summit.
