Pico Island Wine Tour
The wine tour around Pico Island starts at the scheduled time from the Cais da Madalena Pico.
The first stop is at Moinho do Frade, known for its wine-growing landscapes recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Next, we visit the Cooperativa do Vinho for a tasting of a variety of wines, including the well-known Frei Gigante white wine.
After the tasting, lunch will be at a local restaurant featuring fresh products like tuna or local meats, paired with Pico wine.
We will explore black villages made of volcanic stones on our way to Madalena. Near this town is the Wine Museum, where we will tour its vineyards and facilities to understand the grape cultivation process. Notably, the largest dragon trees on Pico Island are located here.
The tour includes a second tasting at a winery, featuring the traditional Verdelho do Pico.
The tour concludes 8 hours after departure, returning to the starting point.
