Immerse yourself in the mix of colors, aromas, and noise of the traditional markets of India with our tour of Chennai's bazaars. A great opportunity to buy souvenirs for friends or family.

Market Tour of Chennai

We will meet in front of the statue of King George V, in the city center, to begin the tour of the markets and bazaars of Chennai.

Our first stop is Sowcarpet, one of the oldest commercial areas in the city. As you stroll through the streets and stalls, you will learn about its trading history from its origins to the present day.

Next, we will visit Godown Street, known for textiles, dresses, saris, and Indian garments. Our guide will explain the traditional uses of these outfits, and you have the option to purchase a souvenir.

After Godown Street, we will head to Black Town and George Town, characterized by bustling alleys, street sellers, and artisan market stalls, representing the Indian shopping experience.

We will then visit Parry's Corner market, popular among locals and tourists. Each street specializes in specific products such as saris, rugs, handicrafts, and lamps.

The tour concludes at Burma Bazaar, run by refugees from Myanmar, where you can find tech products and perfumes at competitive prices.
