At the scheduled time, we will meet up at the entrance to the Marundeeswarar Temple. This Hindu sanctuary, dedicated to the deity Shiva, is one of the most important temples of Chennai due to its architecture and its previous role as a center of healing and medical learning.
Our spiritual tour then continues with a walk to the Pamban Swamigal temple, honoring the 19th-century poet and Saivite Hindu saint. After learning about the history of this shrine, we head to the sanctuary dedicated to Shiva's son, the Arupadai Veedu Murugan temple.
The next stop is the Ashtalakshmi temple, known for its colorful appearance and dedicated to the god Lakshmi, representing the eight ways in Hindu tradition.
The visit concludes at the Annai Vailankanni sanctuary, a Catholic church featuring gothic and Indian elements, which attracts many Christian pilgrims throughout the year.
