History of the Liria Palace

Welcome to the majesty of the Liria Palace, there goes some history!

It was home in the nineteenth century of the Duke of Alba, don Carlos Fitz-James Stuart and was built between 1767 and 1785 by order of the III Duke of Berwick and Liria.
Its facilities host a collection of private art that includes works by great masters such as Goya, Velázquez, Murillo, Rubens or Titian, among others. And you will also find an impressive period furniture, engravings and sculptures, historical books and an excellent collection of decorative and porcelain arts.

1. A Guided Visit to the Palace of Liria.

  • Afternoons from Tuesday to Friday: 4:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., every 15 minutes (except 4:30 p.m.).
  • Saturdays and Sundays: 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., every 15 minutes.

2. A Thematic Visit of the Empress Eugenia de Montijo will immerse you in the legacy of this historical figure, with an exclusive guide. Explore the interior of the palace as you immerse yourself in the history of the Alba House and the art of the Second French Empire.
This visit offers the following schedules.

  • Monday to Friday mornings: 12:45.
  • Tuesday to Friday afternoon: 18:15.
  • Saturday and Sunday mornings: 12:30 and 12:45.
  • Saturday and Sunday afternoons: 18:00 and 18:15.

In addition, a group schedule is offered free of charge:

  • Monday no festives at the sessions of 09:15 and 09:45 until you complete aphorus. Only online sale with a week in advance.

The following days will be closed:
