Complete Toledo Day Trip

On this day trip to Toledo from Madrid, we will explore the City of Three Cultures. Admission to the Primatial Cathedral, Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, Church of Santo Tomé, Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, and Mosque of Cristo de la Luz is included.

Day Trip Details

We will meet at Calle San Nicolás, 15 and depart by bus to Toledo, located 70 kilometres (43 miles) south of Madrid. A coffee stop will be made en route.

Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Europe's oldest cities, known for its rich history involving Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities. The Old Town features an array of historic landmarks with various architectural styles.

The trip includes a walking tour of Toledo's historical centre, starting at the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. Following the cloister visit, we will proceed to the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, home to a Mudejar art museum.

Next, we'll visit the Church of Santo Tomé to view El Greco's The Burial of the Count of Orgaz. This will be followed by a trip to the Mosque of Cristo de la Luz, built in the 10th century. If you selected the tour with tapas lunch, you will taste local cuisine; otherwise, you will have 1.5 hours of free time for lunch.

After lunch, we will visit Toledo Cathedral and embark on a sightseeing tour to appreciate its architecture. We will end the tour at the Mirador del Valle, a scenic viewpoint for photos of Toledo. The day concludes after 8 hours of exploration in the Plaza de Oriente in Madrid.
