Visit three historic cities in Spain in one day on this day trip to Toledo, Segovia and Ávila from Madrid.
Day Trip to Toledo, Segovia and Ávila
At the indicated time, we'll meet in the centre of Madrid and head to our first destination: Toledo, a city recognized as a World Heritage Site. It is known as the City of Three Cultures due to its architecture reflecting Christian, Jewish and Muslim influences. We will explore the old town, viewing key buildings such as the Alcazar, the Cathedral of Toledo, and the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. If possible, we will visit the interior of the Cathedral.
Next, we proceed to Segovia, where you will have free time for lunch. We will regroup to explore the Roman Aqueduct and its significance, along with the exterior of the cathedral. We will also visit the Alcazar of Segovia, a former royal residence.
Our final stop is Ávila. We will admire the impressive city walls, the best preserved in Spain, and walk around the medieval citadel to view Ávila Cathedral. We will then visit the Mirador de los Cuatro Postes viewpoint for scenic views of Ávila before heading back to Madrid.
The return journey will conclude with farewells at the meeting point after between 11 and 13 hours.
Itinerary Order
The order of visits may vary for organizational reasons. On some days, we may visit Segovia first, taking lunch in Ávila before returning to Madrid via Toledo.
