Segovia, Escorial and The Valley of the Fallen Excursion Itinerary
We leave Madrid at 8:45 am towards the Madrid Sierra mountain range. After around 1 hour, we arrive at the San Lorenzo de El Escorial Monastery.
We will take a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, addressing questions such as 'which kings are buried in the Royal Pantheon?' and 'how many books are in the Royal Library?'
Just 10 minutes from El Escorial is The Valley of the Fallen. We will enter the basilica, dominated by a large cross, and hear anecdotes from the Spanish Civil War.
We will return to Madrid for free time to have lunch. At 3 pm, we regroup to head to Segovia for a walking tour of its old town, which includes more than just its famous aqueduct.
Before concluding our day trip, we will take a guided tour of the Cathedral of Segovia. After the visit, the tour will return to Madrid by around 8 pm.
