Segovia, Escorial and The Valley of the Fallen Excursion Itinerary

We leave Madrid at 8:45 am heading toward the Sierra mountain range. After about 1 hour, we arrive at the San Lorenzo de El Escorial Monastery.

Here, we will have a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, addressing questions such as 'which kings are buried in the Royal Pantheon?', 'which were the favourite rooms of the Asturian and Bourbon monarchs?', and 'how many books are there in the Royal Library?'

Only 10 minutes from El Escorial is the Valley of the Fallen. In this monument, we'll enter the basilica under a giant cross, while learning about the anecdotes from the Spanish Civil War that provide context to the site.

From there, we return to Madrid, providing free time for lunch. At 3 pm, we regroup to head to Segovia, where you can enjoy a walking tour of the old town. The city offers much more than its famous aqueduct!

Before concluding our day trip, we will take a guided tour of the interior of the Cathedral of Segovia. After the visit, we return to Madrid around 8 pm.
