The architecture of El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen, the historical heritage of Segovia... Don't miss these jewels just outside Madrid.

Day Trip Details

The trip departs from Madrid at 8:45 am, heading toward the Sierra de Madrid. After approximately 1 hour, we arrive at the San Lorenzo de El Escorial Monastery. A guided tour will explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, addressing questions about those buried in the Royal Pantheon, the favorite rooms of the Asturian and Bourbon monarchs, and the number of books in the Royal Library.

Located just 10 minutes from El Escorial is the Valley of the Fallen. Here, we will enter the basilica, dominated by a giant cross, and discuss anecdotes from the Spanish Civil War relevant to this historical site.

Following this, you will have free time for lunch before we reconvene at 3 pm to proceed to Segovia. The tour includes a walking tour through the old town, where notable sites extend beyond the famous aqueduct.

We will conclude the day with a guided tour of the interior of the Cathedral of Segovia. After this visit, we return to Madrid around 8 pm.
