Delve deep into Malaga's fascinating history on this guided tour of two of its oldest monuments: the Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre.
Alcazaba and Roman Theatre Guided Tour
We'll meet at the Crystal Pyramid in Malaga's historic centre and stroll to the Visitor's Centre of the Teatro Romano, located in Calle Alcazabilla.
Malaca, known during Roman Hispania, featured infrastructure dedicated to public entertainment. At the visitor's centre, you'll learn about the city's ancient customs and architecture, highlighting the Teatro Romano, Malaga's oldest monument.
Next to the centre are the theatre's ruins, dating back to the first century BC. Explore its different levels and preserved areas while imagining the ancient Roman performances.
On the hill behind the theatre, the Alcazaba will be your next stop. This fortress, built in 11th century Islamic Iberia, used materials from the Teatro Romano. The Alcazaba displays typical Al-Andalus architecture, with stunning patios and gardens. Visit the battlements for panoramic views of the city and nearby Gibralfaro Castle.
After the guided tour of the Alcazaba, the tour concludes back in central Malaga after 90 minutes of exploration.
