Do you want to discover Andalusia's hidden treasures? On this Buddhist Stupa & White Villages Axarquia Day Trip, you'll see some of Andalusia's most tucked away monuments as well as the charming villages of Comares, Cútar and El Borge.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Paseo de la Farola in Malaga and get on the minibus that'll take us to the Karma Guen Buddhist Centre. After a 40-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Velez-Malaga Buddhist Stupa, erected in 1994, the first of its kind to be built outside Asia. You'll learn about its intricate details and significance.
We'll walk through the Buddhist centre's rural paths while enjoying views of the sea and the Tejeda and Almijara mountain ranges. After, we'll visit the nearby Atalaya Tower, a 15th-century fortress featuring Arab-style architecture.
The tour continues with visits to the region's white villages. Our first stop is Comares, where a guided tour will take you through its narrow streets. You'll have 1 hour of free time for lunch after the tour.
Next, we head to Cútar to explore the historic fountain and Our Lady of the Incarnation Church before proceeding to El Borge. Here, we'll walk through its streets and visit El Rosario Church's crypt.
The tour concludes with our return to Malaga after approximately 8 hours of exploring.
