Do you want to discover Andalusia's hidden treasures? On this Buddhist Stupa & White Villages Axarquia Day Trip, you'll see some of Andalusia's most tucked away monuments as well as the charming villages of Comares, Cútar and El Borge.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Paseo de la Farola in Malaga and get on the minibus that'll take us to the Karma Guen Buddhist Centre. After a 40-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Velez-Malaga Buddhist Stupa, which was erected in 1994 as the first of its kind built outside Asia. We will discuss its intricate details and significance.

We will explore the rural paths of the Buddhist centre and enjoy views of the sea and the Tejeda and Almijara mountain ranges. Following this, we will visit the nearby Atalaya Tower, a 15th-century fortress with Arab-style architecture.

After returning to the minibus, we will visit the white villages, starting with Comares, where a guided tour will reveal why this village is known as a 'castle on the heights'. You will then have 1 hour of free time for lunch.

Next, we will travel to Cútar to see the historic fountain and Our Lady of the Incarnation Church before heading to El Borge. We will walk through its streets and visit the El Rosario Church's crypt, which has unique features.

Finally, we will conclude the tour back at the starting point in Malaga after approximately 8 hours of exploration.
