On this day trip to the Caminito del Rey, we'll visit a significant tourist attraction in the province of Malaga.
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the designated meeting point in Malaga city. We will proceed to one of the province's stunning gorges, ready to explore the landscapes of the Caminito del Rey.
During the journey, we will traverse the Alcaparaín mountain range, passing extensive orange groves and Andalusian white villages. A 30-minute stop will be made in the village of Ardales for a break or snack.
Next, we will hike along the Caminito del Rey starting from the northern access in Ardales. This hike, lasting between 2.5 and 3 hours, includes crossing a notable footbridge inaugurated in 1925 by King Alfonso XIII. Participants will enjoy views of the Guadalhorce reservoir and descend the renowned staircase of the Caminito del Rey.
We will explore the area's geology, wildlife, and landscapes, with the footbridge hanging about 105 m (344 ft) above the Gaitanes Gorge. There will be opportunities to take photos at key viewpoints and learn more about the location.
