Thyssen Málaga Museum

The Museum is located on Calle Compañía 10 de la capital malacitana, in a perfect area for it to be part of a complete tour of the beautiful Andalusian city. Less than 15 minutes walk is the Alcazaba and the Cathedral less than five minutes. But if it's painting, you'll want to go to the Museum Picasso, right? It is only five minutes away.

This museum space brings together some great works. There is the option to make a temporary tour in which different genres are reviewed through the best Spanish paintings of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. More emphasis is placed, as it could not be otherwise, on Andalusian painting.

If you prefer, or better, added to the above – because there is no corner in the museum that is not worthwhile – there are the thematic tours: Flamenco, Carnival and Patios and Jardines. In addition, there are always temporary exhibitions.

The Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga, located in the Villalón palace, a palatial construction from the 16th century, houses a collection of works that focuses on the 19th century with works by great protagonists of Spanish painting and especially Andalusian painting. The visit includes access to the Permanent Collection as well as the temporary exhibition and audio guide: in the works with the audio guide symbol (headphones), scan the QR code on the label (a reader is required) to access the file on the work and its audio.

- Special time: 24 and 31 December open from 10:00 to 15:00.
- Closed: 25 December and 1 January.
