3-Day Private Tour of Mount Bromo & Ijen Volcano

Incredible landscapes, magical sunrises, and the curious phenomena of blue fire are the main attractions of this 3-day private tour of Mount Bromo and the Ijen volcano. You'll travel through one of the most mountainous and rugged areas on the island of Java.

Description

Day 1: Malang - Mount Bromo

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel or Malang airport. We will then proceed to Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, where we will stay. You have the rest of the day free to explore the surroundings. Have dinner and rest early as the next day will be intense.

Day 2: Mount Bromo - Bondowoso

We will depart at 3 am in a 4x4 to Mount Penanjakan to view the sunrise over Mount Bromo while enjoying warm coffee. Afterwards, we will cross the sea sand plain and head to the crater of Mount Bromo, an active volcano over 2,300 meters (7,545 feet) high. We will observe the crater, and views of Semeru, the highest point on Java. After visiting the Hindu temple, we will have breakfast at a nearby restaurant, then continue to Bondowoso, stopping for lunch. You will have the evening free in Bondowoso, located at the foothills of the Ijen volcano, where we will spend the night.

Day 3: Bondowoso - Ijen Volcano - Malang

The final day begins early as we head to the Ijen volcano. We will have a small picnic breakfast while walking, followed by a night-time trek of about an hour to the crater just before sunrise. You'll witness the blue fire of the Ijen volcano as sulphuric gases react with oxygen. Afterward, we will return to Malang, stopping for lunch, and will arrive between 4 pm and 5 pm.
