Private Batik Workshop
Pickup will be at your hotel in Malang at 8 am, followed by a drive north to the district of Singosari to discover a key handicraft tradition.
After an hour's drive, we will arrive at the town of Klampok, home to the Singhasari Museum. Here, we will take a brief tour to observe sculptures and local craftsmanship while learning about the batik technique, which uses beeswax and kerosene to decorate fabrics.
Following the museum visit, we will proceed to a workshop to learn how to decorate fabrics with this traditional method. You can choose your desired designs and replicate them on fabric using brushes and a canting (also known as tjanting), a pen with a metal tip for wax application.
Once your design is complete, we will let it dry while enjoying a typical Indonesian lunch. At the conclusion of the batik workshop, we will return to Malang and drop you off at your hotel by around 3 pm.
