Chania, Lake Kournas & Rethymno Excursion

At 7:30 am, we will gather at the meeting point in Malia. The journey to western Crete will begin with our first stop in Chania. While exploring the Old City, we will see the beautiful harbor, old Venetian fortifications, and Turkish mosques. The modern part of Chania offers opportunities to experience the local gastronomy and shop at the local market.

After an hour and a half in Chania, we will head to Lake Kournas, enjoying two hours of free time at this freshwater lake, supplied by subterranean water from the Lefka Ori mountains. Visitors can swim in the lake and dine at a local restaurant.

Around 4:15 pm, we will regroup and proceed to our last destination, Rethymno. Here, we will explore key sites, including a 16th-century Venetian fortress, the Rimondi Fountain, and the Venetian Loggia.

The tour will conclude around 7:30 pm, returning to the meeting point in Malia.
