Chania, Lake Kournas & Rethymno Excursion

At 7:30 am, we will gather at the meeting point in Malia and set off for western Crete to explore this region.

Our first stop will be Chania. We will explore the Old City, viewing the harbor, Venetian fortifications, and Turkish mosques. In the modern part of Chania, there will be an opportunity to experience local gastronomy and shop at the local market for souvenirs.

After an hour and a half in Chania, we will proceed to Lake Kournas, where we will have two hours of free time. This freshwater lake, fed by subterranean water from the Lefka Ori mountains, offers opportunities for swimming and dining at local restaurants.

At approximately 4:15 pm, we will reconvene and travel to Rethymno. There, we will explore notable sites such as a 16th-century Venetian fortress, the Rimondi Fountain, and the Venetian Loggia.

The tour will conclude around 7:30 pm, returning to the meeting point in Malia.
