Samaria Gorge Hiking Tour

The tour begins at 5:30 am at the designated meeting point in Malia. We will travel to Skaleta in a comfortable minibus, allowing for extra rest before the adventure.

In Skaleta, there will be a stop for breakfast before we proceed to the Omalos Plateau. Upon arrival, we will begin our hike through Samaria Gorge, starting from Xyloskalo, which is over 1200 meters above sea level.

During the hike, which lasts six to seven hours, participants will explore Samaria National Park, observing Cypress tree forests, ravine rock formations, and the clear waters of streams and springs, as well as local wildlife and vegetation.

On the final segment of the hike, we will encounter the famous Iron Gates, the narrowest point of the mountain pass, ideal for photographs. The tour will conclude in the small fishing village of Agia Roumeli, where there will be time for lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we will begin our return journey to Malia, arriving at approximately 7:30 pm.
