Spinalonga & Kolokitha Excursion

We'll meet at 8 am in Malia and head to Elounda harbor. There, we'll board a boat and set sail to the beach of Kolokitha, where you can take a swimming break and enjoy a delicious barbecue on board if you wish.

Next, we'll cross the bay of Mirabello to the island of Spinalonga, an abandoned site where we will learn about its history during Venetian and Ottoman rule and the battles fought there.

During the tour, we will see the great fortress and imposing walls that protected this island in the Aegean archipelago. Notably, it served as a leper colony in the early 20th century.

After the historical exploration, we will take a bus back to Malia, arriving around 7 pm.
