Explore some of the most charming corners of the Cretan coastline and go for a swim in a beautiful bay on this excursion to Spinalonga and Kolokitha from Malia.
Spinalonga & Kolokitha Excursion
We'll meet at 8 am in Malia and head to Elounda harbor. There, we'll board a boat and set sail to the beach of Kolokitha, where we'll anchor for swimming and, optionally, enjoy a barbecue on board.
Next, we'll cross the bay of Mirabello to the island of Spinalonga, an abandoned site rich in history from Venetian and Ottoman rule and its numerous conflicts.
During the tour, we'll explore the great fortress and walls that protected this islet in the Aegean archipelago. Notably, it served as a leper colony in the early 20th century.
After learning about Cretan history, we'll return to Malia, arriving around 7 pm.
