Itaimbezinho Canyon Day Trip

If you're in Mampituba, you cannot miss this day trip to the Itaimbezinho Canyon.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Sítio Cultural Museu da Estância. From this point, we'll leave for the Itaimbezinho Canyon.

After an hour's drive, we'll arrive at the foot of the Serra do Faxinal, where the old Tropeiros Route begins. We'll explore the history of the tropeiros of Brazil while walking the 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) of this trail, leading to the Elbow viewpoint.

From this vantage point, you will see the Itaimbezinho canyon with its towering walls reaching heights of 700 meters (2,296 feet) and a maximum gap of 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) between rock formations. Following this, we'll embark on a 1.5-kilometer (0.9 miles) walk to the Vértice viewpoint, providing views of the Andorinhas and Véu da Noiva waterfalls.

We will continue visiting the Casa da Vó Maria, built in 1945, now housing a craft store, snacks, and drinks.

From Casa da Vó Maria, we will walk back to the trekking route starting point. Our vehicle will then take us back to the meeting point in Mampituba, where we'll arrive 6 hours after pickup.
