On this intertropical tour of the Mangroves of Tumbes National Sanctuary, we'll explore a unique ecosystem while visiting some of the area's popular islets.
Description
After picking you up at your hotel in Mancora at 8 am, we will head to Tumbes, a coastal town in the extreme northwest of Peru.
We'll travel by road to Puerto Pizarro, known for its mangrove forests. This ecosystem extends from the Gulf of Guayaquil to Playa Hermosa, forming water channels on the Tumbes River delta.
We will visit several mangrove islets, starting with the Isla de los Pajaros (Bird Island), home to many indigenous birds. We will also pass by La Isla Hueso de Ballena (Whale Bone Island) and stop at La Isla del Amor (Love Island), where you will have free time to relax and enjoy the local gastronomy.
Before returning to Mancora, we will visit the center of Tumbes to see its main square, followed by a stop at La Playa de Amotape (Amotape Beach), known for its turquoise waters.
We will arrive in Mancora and drop you off at your hotel around 3 pm.
