On this intertropical tour of the Mangroves of Tumbes National Sanctuary, we'll explore one of the most unique ecosystems in the world while visiting a few of the area's most popular islets.

Description

After picking you up at your hotel in Mancora at 8 am, we'll head for Tumbes, a coastal town located in the extreme northwest of Peru.

We'll travel by road to Puerto Pizarro, known for its impressive mangrove forests. This ecosystem, characteristic of intertropical South America, extends from the Gulf of Guayaquil to Playa Hermosa, forming a series of water channels on the Tumbes River delta.

We'll visit several mangrove islets, starting with the Isla de los Pajaros (Bird Island), named for its indigenous bird population. We will observe the red mangrove that supports these birds.

We'll pass by La Isla Hueso de Ballena (Whale Bone Island) and stop at La Isla del Amor (Love Island), where you will have free time to relax and sample the local gastronomy.

Before returning to Mancora, we will visit the main square in Tumbes and stop at La Playa de Amotape (Amotape Beach), known for its turquoise waters.

Finally, we'll arrive back in Mancora, dropping you off at your hotel at around 3 pm.
