The main sights in the Colombian department of Risaralda await on our Guática & Quinchía Day Trip from Manizales. We'll immerse ourselves in the culture of this region and visit its most beautiful villages.

Guática & Quinchía Day Trip

At 7 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Manizales and drive to the Department of Risaralda in northwest Colombia.

Our tour will begin with a 2-hour 30-minute jeep ride to Quinchía, the first village we'll visit. This picturesque spot is noted for its natural and cultural heritage and was awarded the title of Most Beautiful Town in Risaralda in 1985.

After visiting this village, we'll enter the Tierras de Xixarca Archaeological Museum, which houses a collection of objects from the Quimbaya civilization. We'll learn about the history of this indigenous group as we explore the museum.

Next, we'll visit a filigree workshop where local craftspeople create traditional handicrafts using this goldsmithing technique.

We'll take a break for a traditional local lunch consisting of one course and a drink. After lunch, we'll head to Guática through the landscapes of northern Risaralda.

This town, founded in 1638 by indigenous people led by the cacique Guática, is known for its silk production. The community plants mulberry trees and raises worms that produce high-quality silk, which is used in fabric production.

We'll learn about this silk production process step by step and have time for shopping before returning to Manizales, with drop-off at your hotel around 4 pm.
