Plata Island Day Trip

At 6:30 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Manta and travel in a minibus to Machalilla National Park, a protected area on the Ecuadorian coast. We will enjoy ocean views until we reach Puerto López, where we will board a boat to Plata Island.

We will depart from the coast of Manabí to this island known as "the small Galapagos." Participants may see exotic birds and, depending on the season, humpback whales that arrive every summer from Antarctica.

Upon arrival at Plata Island, we will observe its steep volcanic cliffs and varied vegetation, discussing the island's notable inhabitants, including sea turtles, which contribute to its biodiversity.

We will enjoy lunch on the boat while returning to Puerto Lopez, featuring a local dish and dessert. Afterward, you will have free time to explore the town before boarding the minibus for the return journey to Manta, arriving back at the hotel by 2:30 pm.
