Maputo Special Reserve Tour

At 6:00 am, we will depart from the Mozambican capital, starting from 417 Kwame Nkrumah Avenue.

Traveling in a 4x4, we will drive through Catembe and other southern towns in Mozambique. After a two-hour journey, we will reach Puerta Futi, the main entrance to the Maputo Special Reserve (entrance fee of 15 US dollars per person is not included).

Once inside this large protected area (77,400 hectares), our safari will commence. We will observe various native African animals including elephants, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, and impalas in their natural environment. Additionally, we will encounter a multitude of birds during the tour.

The first part concludes with a light lunch near Lake Munde, where we will appreciate the different bird species flying over the lagoon.

After lunch, the safari will continue to Lake Xinguti. We will briefly stop at its shores for coffee and to observe hippos and the wading birds that visit to drink water.

By approximately 2:30 pm, we will return to the starting point in Maputo. To enhance the return trip, there will be a quiz on African wildlife on board the truck.
