Discover one of the most famous seaside resorts in Basilicata with this Maratea Private Tour, where you will explore the medieval village and key points of interest, including the statue of Christ the Redeemer and the Basilica of San Biagio.

Maratea Private Tour

At the agreed time, your guide will meet you near the fountain on Piazza Biagio Vitolo to begin the private tour of Maratea, situated in the Gulf of Policastro and overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The first destination is the statue of Christ the Redeemer, located on top of Mount San Biagio. Created by Bruno Innocenti between 1963 and 1965, this sculpture is 21 metres high and made of white cement and Carrara marble.

Next, you will visit the Basilica of San Biagio, home to the relics of the town's patron saint. Amongst its features are the 15th-century fresco of the Madonna del Melograno, a marble tabernacle from 1519, and an ancient stone baptismal font from the 15th-16th century.

The tour concludes with a visit to the medieval village, where you will walk through its narrow streets and observe the historical buildings. At the end of the two-hour tour, you will say goodbye to your guide.
