2 Day Zagora Desert Trip

If you're in Marrakech for longer than a weekend break, there is nothing more authentic than a desert trip where you spend the night in a traditional Amazigh tent.

Description

Day 1: Ait Ben Haddou - Draâ Valley - Zagora

On the first day, we'll leave Marrakech at the indicated time for Zagora. We will travel through the Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass at 2260 meters, viewing various Amazigh villages.

After a brief stop at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, we continue to Zagora, crossing the Anti Atlas and passing the Amazigh village of Agdez, the Draâ Valley, and its palm grove, the last vegetation before the desert.

We will reach Zagora in time for a camel ride and to enjoy the desert sunset.

After a traditional dinner, we'll spend the night in an authentic Amazigh tent.

Day 2: Zagora - Draâ Valley - Ouarzazate

On day 2, we wake early to witness the desert dawn. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, we will take a 40-minute camel ride through the desert.

We will pass through the Draâ Valley and Agdez again to arrive at Ouarzazate, where we will visit the Taourit Kasbah.

In the afternoon, we return to Marrakech. You may have lunch in Ouarzazate or on the way back.

The tour concludes in Marrakech late afternoon.

Accommodation Types

When booking, you can choose between two types of accommodation:

The standard camp has shared bathrooms and showers. The tents sleep up to 5 people, but you won't share with strangers. We offer one tent per couple.

The superior camp features tents with private bathrooms.

Both camps are separate. In all accommodations, rooms are available as double, triple, or family rooms. A single supplement applies for single occupancy.

Hotel Pickup

If you're in the Medina, please go to the Café de France in Jemaa el Fna Square. If outside the Medina, we'll pick you up free from your hotel or riad. For locations outside Marrakech, pickup may incur extra charges based on distance.
