3-Day Merzouga to Fez Trip

Head into the immensity of the desert and enjoy a unique adventure visiting beautiful locations like Ouarzazate and the Erg Chebbi dunes with this 3-day trip through Merzouga to Fez.

Trip Description

Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley

We will leave Marrakech to Ouarzazate, approximately a 4-hour journey. We will stop at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou before proceeding to Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt. We will continue along the Thousand Kasbahs Road to the Roses Valley, arriving about 30 minutes before sunset, and end the day in the Dades Valley for our first night's accommodation.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga

After breakfast, we will visit the Dades Gorges and the Todra Gorges. Following lunch near Erfoud, known for its fossil fragments, we will travel to Merzouga. Participants can choose between a camel ride into the desert camp or a quad bike tour at additional cost. Dinner will be served in Erg Chebbi under the stars.

Day 3: Rissani - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas - Fez

We will witness the sunrise in the desert before breakfast and a camel ride. Our journey to Fez will take us through Tafilalet and Rissani, with a stop at the monkey forest in Azrou. We expect to arrive in Fez around 6 pm, with transportation available via taxi with an English, Spanish, or French-speaking driver based on availability.

Accommodation Options

The first night will be spent in Dades, with the same accommodation for standard and superior options: Dar Essyaha, Hotel Babylon, Hotel Le Vieux Chateau, Kasbah Tifawen, or similar. Standard haimas accommodate up to 4 people with private bathrooms, while superior haimas accommodate up to 5. During peak seasons, standard camps may have shared bathrooms, and air conditioning in luxury camps incurs an extra 30 EUR fee.

For those in the Medina, go to one of the following meeting points: KFC Marrakech, Moulay El Yazid Mosque, Mohamed V School, Abdelmoumen School, or Bab Doukkala Pharmacy. For those outside the Medina, hotel or riad pickups are complimentary; however, a supplement of 10 EUR to 40 EUR applies based on distance.
