Trip Description
Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley
Depart from Marrakech for Ouarzazate, a journey of approximately 4 hours through the Atlas, crossing the Tizi n'Tichka pass over 2,000 meters high. Stop at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou before continuing to Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt. Proceed along the Thousand Kasbahs Road towards Skoura, arriving at the Roses Valley around sunset, concluding the day in the Dades Valley with accommodations possibly in Skoura.
Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga
After breakfast, visit the Dades Gorges and the Todra Gorges, known for their panoramic views. Travel towards Merzouga via the Jorf Palm Grove, famous for dates, with a lunch break in Erfoud, known for fossil fragments. After visiting Erfoud, ride a camel or opt for a quad bike tour to the desert camp at Erg Chebbi for a Moroccan dinner under the stars.
Day 3: Rissani - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas - Fez
Experience sunrise in the desert, followed by breakfast and a camel ride before heading to Fez via Tafilalet and Rissani, ancient capital of the Alaouite sultans. The journey includes a stop at a monkey forest in Azrou and Ifrane, arriving in Fez around 6 pm. Transport can be provided by a taxi with an English, Spanish, or French-speaking driver if available.
