4 Day Merzouga Desert Trip

Visit the enchanting Sahara Desert on a 4-day trip from Marrakech. Explore dirt roads, valleys, mountain passes, gorges, dunes, and villages while discovering Morocco.

Trip Description

Day 1: Marrakesh - Aït Benhaddou - Valley of the Roses - Dadès Gorges

After pickup from your hotel, riad, or airport, we will travel to Ouarzazate via the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass. We will visit Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a notable fortified city and filming location, before continuing on the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs to the Valley of the Roses. We will spend the night in Dadès Gorges.

Day 2: Dadès Gorges - Todgha Gorges - Merzouga

After breakfast, we will head towards the Dadès Valley and Todgha Gorges for lunch. We will continue to Merzouga, passing through the Jorf palm grove and Erfoud. In Merzouga, we will switch to camels for a Bedouin camp experience and dinner.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Tazarine - Tizi N'Tfrkhin - Ouarzazate

Day three will begin with a sunrise camel ride. We will return to Ouarzazate via different routes, visiting Tafilalet and Rissani before reaching Alnif. We will stop for lunch in Klaat M'Gouna and arrive in Ouarzazate for the night.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, enjoy the morning in Ouarzazate, with suggestions to visit Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios. We will depart between 12 and 3:30 pm and return you to Marrakech in the early afternoon.

Options include:
Standard hotels: Kasbah Tifawe / Dar Essyaha (Dadès), Haima Camp (Merzouga), Hotel Les Jardins / Hotel Azoul (Ouarzazate).Luxury hotels: Azawad Luxury Desert Camp (Merzouga), with similar standards in Dadès and Ouarzazate.

Only double rooms are available, with triple or family rooms possible. Standard rooms have communal showers, while superior rooms have private bathrooms. A single supplement applies for solo bookings.

Hotel Pickup

If staying in the Medina, you must arrive at the meeting point. Pickup is free for hotels outside the Medina, with additional charges of 10EUR to 40EUR based on distance.
