4-Day Merzouga Desert Trip

Visit the enchanting Sahara Desert on a 4-day trip from Marrakech. Explore dirt roads, valleys, mountain passes, gorges, dunes, and villages to discover this unique country.

Trip Details

Day 1: Marrakesh - Aït Benhaddou - Valley of the Roses - Dadès Gorges

After pickup from your hotel, riad, or the airport, we will head to Ouarzazate through the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass. We will visit Aït Benhaddou Kasbah and travel the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs to Kelaat M'Gouna, the capital of the Valley of the Roses. The first day will conclude at the Dadès Gorges for overnight stay.

Day 2: Dadès Gorges - Todgha Gorges - Merzouga

We will travel through the Todgha Gorges and have lunch before proceeding to Merzouga. We will exchange vehicles for camels to explore the desert and spend the night in a Bedouin camp, including a traditional Moroccan dinner.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Tazarine - Tizi N'Tfrkhin - Ouarzazate

The day begins with a sunrise over the desert. We will take a different route back to Ouarzazate, passing through the Tafilalet Palm Grove and the village of Rissani, followed by lunch at Klaat M'Gouna. We will arrive in Ouarzazate for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, you will have the morning to explore Ouarzazate. We will depart between 12 PM and 3:30 PM, arriving in Marrakech in the evening, depending on traffic.

Trip Accommodation

There are two options, standard (2 - 3 stars) and luxury (4 stars):

Standard hotels: Include Kasbah Tifawe, Haima Camp (Merzouga), and various hotels in Ouarzazate.Luxury hotels: Azawad Luxury Desert Camp (Merzouga), with accommodations in Dades and Ouarzazate remaining unchanged.

Only double rooms are available. Options for triple or family rooms exist. Communal showers are provided in standard camps, while superior rooms feature private bathrooms. Peak seasons may lead to shared bathrooms in standard accommodations.
