4 Day Merzouga Desert Trip

Visit the enchanting Sahara Desert on a 4-day trip from Marrakech, exploring dirt roads, valleys, gorges, dunes, and villages.

Trip Description

Day 1: Marrakesh - Aït Benhaddou - Valley of the Roses - Dadès Gorges

We'll depart from your hotel, riad, or airport towards Ouarzazate, crossing the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass. Our first stop is the Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a notable fortified city. Afterward, we will travel along the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs to Kelaat M'Gouna, ending the day at the Dadès Gorges for overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Dadès Gorges - Todgha Gorges - Merzouga

Following breakfast, we will travel through the Todgha Gorges and have lunch before proceeding to Merzouga, passing through the Jorf palm grove and Erfoud. In Merzouga, we will switch to camels for a journey to a Bedouin camp for the night with a traditional Moroccan dinner.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Tazarine - Tizi N'Tfrkhin - Ouarzazate

We will start early to watch the sunrise in the desert, then head back to Ouarzazate via a different route, stopping at Rissani and Alnif before crossing the Anti-Atlas mountain range. After lunch in Klaat M'Gouna, we will arrive in Ouarzazate for overnight accommodation.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, you'll have some free time to explore Ouarzazate. Recommendations include the Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios. Departure from Ouarzazate will be between 12 and 3:30 pm, returning you to Marrakech in the early afternoon.

Accommodation options include standard (2-3 stars) and luxury (4 stars) hotels:

Standard hotels: Kasbah Tifawe/Dar Essyaha (Dadès), Haima Camp (Merzouga), Hotel Les Jardins/Hotel Azoul (Ouarzazate).Luxury hotels: Azawad Luxury Desert Camp (Merzouga), with similar accommodations in Dadès and Ouarzazate.

Single room options are not available, only double, triple, or family rooms. Standard rooms have communal showers, while superior rooms have private bathrooms. A single supplement applies for individual bookings.

Hotel Pickup

If staying in the Medina, you must go to the meeting point; if outside, we offer free pickup at your hotel or riad, with an extra charge for distant hotels.
