4-Day Merzouga Desert Trip

Visit the enchanting Sahara Desert on a 4-day trip from Marrakech. Explore dirt roads, valleys, mountain passes, gorges, dunes, and picturesque villages.

Trip Details

Day 1: Marrakesh - Aït Benhaddou - Valley of the Roses - Dadès Gorges

After hotel or airport pickup, head to Ouarzazate via the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass. Visit the Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, and travel the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs to Kelaat M'Gouna, and then to the Dadès Gorges for the night.

Day 2: Dadès Gorges - Todgha Gorges - Merzouga

After breakfast, journey through the Todgha Gorges and have lunch. Head towards Merzouga, passing through Jorf palm grove and Erfoud. Arrive in Merzouga, switch to camels, and reach a Bedouin camp for a traditional dinner.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Tazarine - Tizi N'Tfrkhin - Ouarzazate

Early morning sunrise camel ride in the desert. Travel through Rissani, and Alnif, continue across the Anti-Atlas mountains. Stop for lunch at Klaat M'Gouna. Arrive in Ouarzazate for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

Free morning to explore Ouarzazate before departure between 12 and 3:30 pm. Return to Marrakech in the late evening.

Trip Accommodation

Two options available: standard (2-3 stars) and luxury (4 stars).

Standard hotels: various options in Dadès and Ouarzazate.Luxury hotels: Azawad Luxury Desert Camp in Merzouga; standard and luxury options do not alter accommodations in Dadès or Ouarzazate.

All accommodations feature double rooms only; triple or family rooms are available. Standard rooms have communal showers, while superior rooms include private bathrooms. Booking for a single person incurs a supplement.

Note that during peak season, shared bathrooms may be available in standard category accommodations.

Hotel Pickup

Pickup for guests outside the Medina is included; an additional charge may apply for hotels further away from Marrakech.
