Meet colorful bayou creatures such as ospreys, pelicans, frogs, turtles, owls, and snakes. We will gather at your specified time on Barataria Boulevard to board the airboat and embark on a tour of the Barataria Preserve's swamps, part of the Jean Lafitte National Park. The hovercraft allows for speeds of up to 40 miles per hour and will stop at points for picturesque views. The airboat will navigate to parts of the reserve inaccessible by traditional vessels, creating a memorable experience. During the journey, the captain will share insights about local culture and fishing in alligator territory. The tour concludes 1 hour and 40 minutes after it begins.

Capacity of the Airboats

There are two types of airboats: a standard one accommodating up to 16 people and a smaller option for up to 9 people. The small group option offers a more personalized experience in terms of the route and commentary.

Children Under 17

Children under 17 may join if they are over 4 feet (122 centimeters) tall; those under this height cannot board the airboat.

Hotel pickup

An optional pickup service from your hotel can be booked. We will collect you 1.5 hours before the boat ride starts and return you after the activity to your New Orleans accommodation.
