Barataria Preserve Boat Expedition

We'll commence our journey at the designated pier on Barataria Boulevard, located south of New Orleans. It's time to embark on our exploration of the beautiful Louisiana wetlands.

After boarding the vessel, we'll navigate through the serene Barataria Reserve, a expansive swamp that is part of the impressive Jean Lafitte National Park. Throughout the excursion, we will unveil the rich flora and fauna characteristic of the region. Embark on a quest to spot over 200 species including birds, snakes, turtles, and frogs, which contribute to the vibrant ecosystem here. With a stroke of luck, we may also cross paths with the monarchs of the swamp: alligators.

As we traverse these enchanting wetlands, views of a traditional fishing village will greet us along the way, along with glimpses into the ancient history of the First Nations through settlements that have stood for over 2000 years. This excursion offers a harmonious blend of nature and history!

After an exciting hour and forty minutes of discovering these enchanting swamps, our tour will come to a close.

For added convenience, a pickup service from your New Orleans hotel can be arranged. We'll collect you one and a half hours prior to the boat trip and return you to your accommodation after the experience has concluded.
