Our journey begins at 2 pm on La Canebière, where we will commence our exploration of the Noailles district.
From this central landmark, we will navigate the narrow streets of Noailles, uncovering the story behind the creation of one of the globe's most renowned anthems, the Marseillaise.
Along the way, we will delve into the background of this neighborhood, examining the long-established shops dating back over two centuries. Our discussion will also cover topics such as gentrification, the challenges of securing adequate housing, and the sad events of Rue d'Aubagne.
Among our highlights will be a visit to the bustling Capuchin Market, a dynamic hub offering an array of exotic ingredients sourced from the East and Africa.
