Sormiou Calanque Hiking Activity

On the Sormiou Calanque Hiking Activity from Marseille, participants will hike to one of the largest coves in the Calanques National Park.

The hiking route begins at the Chemin de Morgiou car park. The path leads to the Sormiou creek, known for its natural beauty.

This 3-mile (5-kilometre) hike goes through a scrub forest towards the Sormiou Ridge, offering views of the nearby massif, the Mediterranean Sea, and Marseille.

Next, the route descends to the Sormiou cove, where there is a small fishing village and beach. Participants have the option to swim in the turquoise waters.

After the swim, the return journey starts, following a different route that highlights the nature, history, and culture of the Calanques National Park, a significant protected area in south-eastern France.

The activity concludes approximately three and a half hours after departure, returning to the starting point.
