We'll meet up in picturesque Piazza XX Settembre square, where we'll begin our walking tour of the historic center of Martina Franca. This route immerses us in the history of this town in the Puglia region.

We'll pass through the San Stefano Gate, one of the baroque porticoes of the ancient city walls. We'll stroll until we reach Piazza Roma square, where we'll admire the façade of the Palazzo Ducale, home of the Caracciolo family. We will discuss the power of these dukes during the glory years of Martina Franca.

Continuing to Piazza del Plebiscito, we will visit the Basilica of San Martino, built in the 18th century to replace an earlier church damaged by an earthquake. The Baroque façade of this temple is noteworthy.

In the Piazza del Plebiscito square, you'll also find the University of Martina Franca and the iconic clock tower. After, we will walk through narrow streets, admiring baroque and rococo palaces. Bring your camera to capture these monuments!
