Fish Tour Overview

We will gather at the designated hour at the Tragédia do Mar (Tragedy at Sea) Monument, located close to the Port of Leixões, marking the beginning of an enlightening journey rich in flavors, stories, and connections in Matosinhos.

Your adventure will kick off with a visit to the local fish market, where fishermen showcase their finest catches each morning. Select from an array of seafood delights, including sea bass and sardines!

Following this, enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach as you absorb the lively spirit of this fishing town. We will delve into its history while admiring the unique architecture, including a stop at the Casa do Arquitectura and a tour of a sardine factory.

Next, we will head to a designated area in the port where a local chef will introduce you to traditional fish preparation methods. The aroma of grilled seafood will be hard to resist! You’ll taste the delicious dishes prepared using the fresh fish you selected at the market, leaving you salivating!

To conclude our journey, we will visit the renowned drawbridge, a landmark that symbolizes the bond between the sea and urban life.
