On this visit to Mr. Lionso's Ranch, you'll learn about the artisanal mezcal process and enjoy a tasting with unique flavours.

Tour Details

We will pick you up from your hotel in Mazatlán at the scheduled time and drive to Mr. Lionso Ranch, located about 40 minutes away. This location is surrounded by agave fields, highlighting the mezcal tradition in southern Sinaloa.

Upon arrival, we'll visit the ranch's factory to learn about the mezcal production process. We'll explore the ovens, stills, and barrels while discussing the drink's cultural significance since the 19th century and the artisanal methods still used today.

During the tour, we will explain what a vinata is and its historical importance, differentiate between the different types of mezcal, and discuss agave, the plant fundamental to this distillate.

We will also partake in tasting mezcals produced at the ranch, including white, rested, almond, coffee, hibiscus, tamarind, mango, and chocolate, providing a variety of flavours.

Additionally, we'll enjoy a molcajete flamed with mezcal, machaca burritos, guacamole, and bougainvillea flower water. After lunch, we will return to Mazatlán and conclude the tour at your hotel after approximately 2.5 hours.
