St. Paul's Cathedral is the most important Catholic religious temple in Mdina. This historic Baroque style building's origins date back to the end of the 17th century.
The exterior facade of the temple is sober, while its interior features colorful frescoes, polished marble, Irish wood altarpieces, stained-glass windows, and statues. During your visit, you can learn about the history of the cathedral of Mdina by reading the information panels in the temple. According to tradition, the building was erected on the site where St. Publius used to live, who is credited with turning Malta into the first Christian nation in the West.
