Advanced River Rafting Down Samaná River

Calling all adventure sports lovers! Join this advanced-level rafting activity down the Samaná River in the Antioquian jungle.

Description

We'll pick you up at your Medellin hotel at the designated time and embark on a scenic three-hour drive through the Antioquia region. The first stop is Cocorná, where we will switch to a rugged off-roading vehicle for a 30-minute ride to a forested area. After arriving, we'll hike approximately 40 minutes to an hour through the canyon.

At the advanced rafting launch point, we will see the Samaná River, known as the "free river of Antioquia," originating from the confluence of the Verde and Calderas rivers.

Once at the river, we will prepare with safety gear, including helmets and life jackets. A brief technical briefing precedes an exhilarating rafting expedition lasting around 3 to 4 hours.

We will navigate a demanding section of the river, covering 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) with high-difficulty class III and IV rapids. Enjoy the lush Colombian jungle along the way.

A picnic lunch will be provided in the natural surroundings before we return to our meeting point via the off-roading vehicle, concluding our day approximately 9 hours later.

You may opt to meet directly in Cocorná at El Llanerito La Piñuela Restaurant on Autopista Medellín - Bogotá. We will contact you to confirm the exact meeting time. While waiting for others, enjoy a breakfast of arepas, cheese, eggs, and rice, choosing beverages from hot chocolate, coffee, or soda.
