Advanced River Rafting Down Samaná River

Calling all adventure sports lovers! Join this advanced-level rafting activity down the Samaná River and get your adrenaline pumping in the Antioquian jungle.

Description

We'll pick you up at your Medellin hotel at the designated time and travel through the Antioquia region.

Enjoy a scenic three-hour drive to our first transfer point in Cocorná. Here, we will move to a rugged off–roading vehicle, reaching a forested area in about 30 minutes. After arrival, we'll hike for approximately 40 minutes to an hour, exploring an awe-inspiring canyon.

At our advanced rafting launch point, you'll see the Samaná River, known as the "free river of Antioquia," originating from the merging of the Verde and Calderas rivers.

Upon arrival at the river, the rafts and paddles will be ready. We'll equip ourselves with safety gear, including helmets and life jackets. After a brief technical briefing, we'll set off on our rafting expedition, lasting approximately 3 to 4 hours.

We will navigate a challenging stretch covering 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) with class III and IV rapids. Remember to appreciate the lush Colombian jungle during the adventure.

Before concluding, we'll have a picnic lunch in nature. Following our meal, we will return to the initial meeting point via our off–roading vehicle.

Our transport vehicle will bring you back to your Medellin hotel, concluding our day after approximately 9 hours.

You can also opt to go directly to the meeting point in Cocorná at El Llanerito La Piñuela Restaurant, on Autopista Medellín - Bogotá. If you choose this option, we'll contact you with an exact meeting time.

At this meeting point, we'll wait for any remaining group members from Medellín. In the meantime, we can enjoy breakfast with arepas, cheese, eggs, and rice, with beverages like hot chocolate, coffee, or soda.
